Great Affordable Gift: Personalized Decoupage Serving Tray

Posted by Margarita on August 9, 2009 at 10:42 am.

This personalized serving tray makes a great and affordable gift for someone who celebrates their birthday in the summer.  What a great way to show off while serving their guests drinks in backyard or on a patio deck!

Total cost for the finished product as shown in the video can be as low as $15 CDN.

Note that MLC projects use a lot of the same materials over and over. For example, if you end up buying gesso and only use a small portion of it with this demo, you’ll probably see a demo in the near future where the gesso is also used. This avoids waste and unnecessary expenses. Or, why not ask your friends to chip in for the cost of materials and have a gift-making party and use up all the supplies in one shot?

Why use yellow acrylic paint? Can we use any color paint?

  • I chose yellow because it is a shade light enough to not take attention away from the images I chose for this project. You can use any color of paint you want, just make sure it does not distract from the images. Thanks for your question!
